    I keep seeing these but they're nominal categories. What about ordinal categories where dummies are created from them. Are the dummies then considered ordinal or nominal?

    • @BradCannell
      @BradCannell Рік тому

      Hi and thanks for reaching out! If I'm understanding your question correctly, each individual dummy variable wouldn't really be ordinal. It would simply be a dichotomous 0/1. However, the dummy variables collectively could be used for analyses that account for the ordinal nature of the underlying thing you are measuring. I hope that helps!

      Hi SMF. Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I no longer teach SAS. Actually, I rarely even use it anymore. I've pretty much completed transitioned over to using R. I've left the SAS videos up on this channel, but I won't be making any new ones anytime soon. I'm sorry!

      Hello, Fares. As far as I know, there is a lot of overlap between what you can do in SAS and what you can do in SPSS. Unfortunately, I haven't used SPSS in many years and I can't really give you a good outline of the pros and cons of each. Sorry!

    When you say the condition of the loops is tested at the bottom. Does that mean SAS doesn't go to the top of the loop, to check the value reaches the Until value when the final value (9) is reached?

      Hi Krista! without a reproducible example, it's really difficult to answer your question. Have you tried posting your question and an example on Stack Overflow (stackoverflow.com/)? I am generally able to get really good guidance from users on that site.
